DONATE ME!

Daniel's a good kid, but like any kid he has his "moments".

The other night he was a little too short with Daddy so he got a timeout.  This ended up provoking a small melt down.  Daniel has a flair for the dramatic...

Chris:  "Daniel, no thank you.  That's not a nice way to talk to Daddy.  That's a timeout."

Daniel:  "What?!  No!  Daddy....(insert uncontrollable crying).....NOOOOOOO!  I DON'T WANT TO!  I DON'T WANT TO BE HERE ANYMORE!  I WANT TO BE DONATED!!!!  I WANT TO BE DONATED!!!!"

I lost it and had to leave the room.

Jesus' logo

As someone who loves the world of "brand identity", logos/trademarks, etc. I was particularly amused when Daniel made the following conclusion:

(reading a Christmas story when we arrive at the page with the Star of Bethlehem)

"Dad!  The star of Bethlehem is like Baby Jesus' logo!!"

The scariest sound

Daniel awoke from nap today asking me what that scary sound was at the beginning of the Winnie the Pooh: Heffalump Movie.

"I don't know Daniel, what did it sound like?"

"Oh...it sounded just like Twinkle Twinkle Little Star."

Yes, apparently we've all been seriously misled.  Twinkle Twinkle Little Star has been striking fear into the hears of 4 year-olds the world over for generations.

Day six with Aaron

We're at 6 days now with Aaron at home, and things are going pretty well.  Everyone (except Chris and Aaron) has had a cold since Thursday.  Naturally, the increased use of videos has been directly proportional to the increase in cold symptoms (Thank you, Stamschror Family, for Winnie the Pooh).  Now that we're all getting better, we're trying to settle into a new routine.

Everyone is so loving and peaceful when a video is on.

"People here have colds?  Huh, with all the sleeping and nursing I've been doing I didn't notice"

Having an infant in the house has brought out some sweet paternal tendancies in Daniel and Matthew.  Daniel likes to rock the baby and give him his pacifier, and Matthew runs around saying "BeeBee" and rubbing his head when he cries.  It's all really sweet.

"Bee Bee!"
With Aaron around, Daniel exclaimed the other day that he wants to get married now.  I asked him today how many kids he hoped to be blessed with and he said "40....no, 50...wait, 200!!!".  We've begun praying for his future spouse.  When he's not debating how many kids to have, he's been on a building streak.

Daniel successfully builds a "train".  Matthew begins planning how to destroy said train.

Aaron Michael Zoltán Hanzeli

Aaron Michael Zoltán Hanzeli was born on November 16 at 4:21pm at Northwest Hospital. He was 7lbs 13oz and 19 3/4" long.  Welcome to the world, Aaron!

Daniel and Matthew love Baby Aaron, with Matthew calling out "BeeBee" anytime Aaron is around.  And Daniel is very proud to be a big brother 2x.  Thank you everyone for your thoughts, prayers, meals, and help over the past few days.  We've appreciated it more than you know!  Here are some fun photos since the big day.

"I'm just 1 hour old!"

Finally home!  Thanks for the ride, Mom and Dad.

Daniel holds Aaron's hand for the first time.

Tuckered out already.

Brothers.

Thanks for all the help while we were gone, Kaelen!

Daniel and Matthew.  Aaron better get ready for this.

So tired.

Still so tired.

Baby no more.  Matthew is now a big brother!

This is Daniel "looking" at the camera for the picture while watching Veggie Tales.  "Dad, I AM looking at it!"

Happy and snugly.

Daniel's first trick for Aaron.

"Wait, I have TWO older brothers?!"

After a long day of celebrating Baby Aaron, even Daniel needed some back rubs.

St. Aaron, pray for us!
St. Michael the Archangel, pray for us!

Challenge accepted

A little over a month ago, I thought that this baby would come early since I just don't get a lot of down time and since Matthew isn't great with stairs (or following me) I end up carrying his extra 24 pounds quite often, which isn't recommended. However, the baby (or my body, I guess) has decided to take this on as a challenge to see just how long it can stay in. Tomorrow we will be one week late. We'll see how far this goes.

Matthew's First Haircut

Matthew had his first haircut yesterday. His barber? Big brother Daniel. Luckily he chose to take some off the back, so it's really not that noticeable. Regardless, Daniel's scissor privileges have been revoked.

Our future high-maintenance coffee orderer

Daniel has been getting pretty particular about how his food is prepared. The other morning I asked what he would like on his toast. This is what he said:

"One piece of toast, half with butter half with jam, cut into squares but not made into sandwiches."

After I had made his toast to his specifications, he became upset because I had assumed that "squares" meant "quarters." He had wanted it in 16 bite-sized pieces to eat with a fork.  Sorry, Starbucks, this one is going to be trouble.

Happy Halloween

Halloween was lots of fun as usual. Daniel and Matthew dressed up as two of the scariest creatures known to man: a dragon and a skunk. We made our daytime rounds to Grandma Eva's house, the Newman Center, and Aunt Tina's, then came home and rested up for trick-or-treating later on.

 One happy dragon.

Waiting patiently for the bag of candy to be opened.

Thanks for all the candy Grandma!

Matthew is very particular about what kind of candy he likes.

Checking out the jack-o-lanterns at the Newman Center.

 Ready for trick-or-treating!

Whoa. It's a little scary out here at night.

Matthew surveys the neighborhood from up high.

There's a skunk crawling into our house!

Halloween is fun!
