The Garage Worm

Today after coming home from a walk we went into the house through the garage. Daniel walked along the side of the car as I put the stroller in the trunk, and when I asked him to come back (since he had gone on the side of the car that does not lead to a door), he turned around and pointed out a worm that had made its way into the garage. Daniel got pretty scared and did not want to walk back to me since he'd be near the worm. I didn't think I'd be able to squeeze between the car and the wall, so after much convincing, he inched his way back to me being very careful to stay as far as possible (inches) away from the worm. Now all day he's been talking about how he's scared of "the garage worm." Thankfully, we do not enter the car from that side, so I doubt we will be seeing this particular worm again. Although if it makes its way over to the other side of the garage, I'm not sure how we will ever get Daniel into the car again...

Baby Hanzeli v2.0


Michele's recent ultrasound gave us our first glimpse of the little miracle in her tummy! Daniel is very excited and has been preparing by pretending he is the mother of all his stuffed animals. Please pray for a healthy baby and Mommy! More news in May!

Bringing home the bacon, literally

Daniel recently heard somebody use the phrase "bringing home the bacon." After a few minutes thinking about it, he announced that "people want to bring the bacon home so they can have pancakes for dinner." It all comes back to pancakes with Daniel. Well, pancakes, or anything else he can eat with butter and syrup.

Oh no, Daisey!

I sometimes forget just how fast a 2 year-old really is.

I dropped something a few days ago and, with Daniel standing right beside me, said "Oopsie Daisey!"

Daniel: "Oh no, Daddy! What happened to Daisey!?"

I didn't know what to say. I've never met the woman, but I certainly don't wish her any harm.

Daniel is learning to count. He's got 1-11 down pat. Problem is when he hits 11 he sometimes wants to keep counting. We haven't told him about the other numbers yet (infinite) so the other day when he was counting I caught him doing this:

1..2..3..4..5..6..7..8..9..10..11..11..11..11..11..11..11

over, and over, and over again...

A Boy

Daniel has been referring to himself as "a boy" lately...

"A boy wants to eat some lunch."

"A boy just fell down!"

It's quite amusing to hear him narrating his life. :)
