Another View

After working on the retaining wall some more, I took a break in the backyard. I realized I hadn't been back there much since the second story was built.

As you can see, the house looks  a lot different from this perspective. The added height effectively blocks out the sun that used to creep over the top of the old house and give some sun to the back yard. But on the positive side, it'll keep the back yard nice and cool during summers.

The upper left window is one of the boys' room, likely Daniel and Peter's room. The upper right window will be a guest room. On the lower left is the office, with the kitchen/dining room window in the lower right.
A fun note: as I was sitting back here taking a break a young couple started wandering through the house, thinking the workers had gone home for the day. Boy it sure was fun to see them jump when I said hi. Turns out they're fellow UW grads and we had a great time chatting.
